In May 2025 two wanderers started a trip, from their homes in Portugal and Italy to a tiny space located in @communitism – Athens. Travelling by train and boat with their portable equipment, they were in search of “space recipes” from the places they passed through.
They brought with them two self-made sleeping bags, a portable oven named “Cum-panis” and some ingredients from their base towns: Trento (IT) and Montemor-o-Novo (PT).
At each stop of their trip, the neighbours and organizations they encountered brought new ingredients into a collective recipe that keeps changing from place to place. The oven Cum-panis gets fed with found wood and feeds the neighbours who come along to gather. It is in these gatherings that the wanderers exchange the ingredients gathered from previous stops with the ones the place is offering them. The understanding of ingredients started to become broader as the travellers went further in their itinerary. In their exchanges, they got seeds and edible ingredients but also a tool to blow into the oven or a poem. The “space recipes” changed from one place to another, and so they began to exchange flavours, scents, and stories tied to rural and urban landscapes.
