Walter is a multidisciplinary artist and curator, born in Hong Kong and based in Germany. Their work often explores – through the lens of machines – what actually makes us human. By using computers, code and other modern technology, Grunt is looking for unconventional ways to merge machinery with meditative practices.
They currently study media art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig (HGB) with focus on “artistic practice and research” under Prof. Christin Lahr.
¨Currently I’ve been trying to live slower and this shift is visible in my newer works. You see, I started on the other side: startup world, hustle culture, chronically online. I question my own lifestyle choices now and comment on them through my art. That is why I so often use “productivity tools” or things you find in an office to make art.¨
