Every morning, the wanderers would wake up and a new line and pocket would appear on their sleeping bags. The lines were expanding overnight, when everything was assimilated and processed.
Maps were woven from the nettles’ fibres, while stories and drawings were dyed with the colours of the encountered plant,s such as pomegranate blossoms, almond leaves, etc. even black and brown ink lines were made of soot produced by the oven and from oak galls appeared.
With each passing day, the sheet-sleeping bags slowly turn into mobile archives.
In combination with the stories, we also wanted to share the DIY techniques used to process and archive the narratives developed during this slow journey. We did this during a workshop at @communitism, designing and experimenting together with the idea of portable pockets, starting with the question: What small foldable places, containers of secrets, spatial knowledge, objects, slogans, do you want to take with you into urban space?
